The age gap

When young, it is hard to grasp the ramifications.

He is 18, she is 18 – OK. He is 22, she is 22 – OK. He is 35, she is 35 — hmmm.
A participant in our focus group recounted the following memory.

“When I was 18, I had my first vision of my 36 year old mother as not just my mom, but as an adult woman. I remember thinking at that time that she was literally old, as in geriatric.”
