The bar is getting even higher for straight guys. Netflix (and others) are up to their “evil ways” in their Hallmark type specials.
Let’s set the scene. The leading man is always around 30 years of age, built like (and dances like) one of the Chippendales, has a PhD from an Ivy in biochemistry, or better yet, philosophy.
He is also a great guy, nice guy, not a jerk, and volunteers at the local animal shelter.
On the other hand, the leading woman, and the leading man’s strong love interest can be anywhere from 16 to 60+ years old. And by any and all measures just very ordinary. By no means a bikini model that’s for sure. Even in some ways maybe even unattractive.
Guys, those are the cards you are dealt with. Sound fair and balanced?
